The Nitty Gritty

Tokyo Ghoul

Tokyo Ghoul Volume 8 took the #1 spot only barely beating out One-Punch Man Volume 1 which came in at #2 on the list. That really shows just how hot One-Punch Man Manga is.

One-Punch man

With three Volumes in the Top 10 (#2,3 and 5), One-Punch Man dominated the Top 10 once again. How long can One-Punch Man continue to dominate the world of Manga? Only time will tell.

Attack On Titan

Attack on Titan Volume 19 came in at #4. What is interesting is that this volume hit the shelves on August 2nd and was still beat out by Tokyo Ghoul Volume 8 which went on sale August 11th as well as Volumes #1 and #6 of One-Punch Man. With a full week head start in sales time, it seems that Attack On Titan is beginning to cool down while Tokyo Ghoul stays steady. Is Attack On Titan beginning to suffer from too long of a story? What do you think?

One Piece

Volume 79 of One Piece claims the #6 spot. It boggles the imagination that a Manga on Volume 79 still makes the Top 10 list regularly. I guess there is a reason One Piece is the top selling Manga in our solar system.

That Wolf-Boy Is Mine

That Wolf-Boy Is Mine Volume 1 hits the shelf on August 16th and debuts at #7. Not Bad! It looks like Kodansha has another hit. Will Volume 2 do as well?

My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia Volume 5 grabs the #8 spot proving that this title has legs. Hopefully it will continue to do well.

Fairy Tail

Fairy Tail Volume 55 debuts at #9. Fairy Tail is another Manga like One Piece that continues to maintain a ravenous fan base here in the US. If only American comic book publishers could learn from Japanese Manga publishers how to pull this off……

Zelda:A Link To The Past

At #10, Zelda A Link To The Past pops up unexpectedly. It is so cool that a book collecting all of the old Nintendo Power Magazine comic strips continues to do so well. Will the new Super Mario Adventures GN by Viz that does the same thing do as well when it comes out in October?

Well that wraps up the August 2016 Top 10 San diego Manga List. As usual, I would love to get some feedback from you regarding this post.

See you next month with the September list!
