This week Mariko Tamaki writes Hulk and Supergirl and I can’t wait to read these two #1 issues from Marvel and DC! For those of you that know me, the fact that I would even consider reading a super-hero book from Marvel or DC should make you try these books. Mariko Tamaki (This One Summer, Tomb Raider, Skim) is a writer that I have tremendous respect for. I will absolutely read anything she writes! For those among you that are not familiar with her work, I highly suggest that you explore her work in this medium. You won’t be disappointed.
Mariko Tamaki along with her sister Jillian Tamaki brought us “This One Summer”, winner of the Eisner Award, Printz Honor Award and the Caldecott Honor Award. A Triple Crown for comics if you will. To get an idea of the caliber of writing Mariko Tamaki is capable of, look no further than this open letter to schools that may have banned “This One Summer”. Read it here at her blog.
